Nissan Car Showroom and Garage, Athlone

The project involved installing aluminium curtain walling to a new showroom and garage. The showroom now has a bright and stylish frontage which perfectly showcases the cars on sale.

Colby House

This large-scale project involved the manufacture and installation of aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling for a prestigious government building. Colby House in Belfast is home to the General Register Office for Northern Ireland. We worked alongside contractors throughout this project which required an extensive amount of project management. Turkington Aluminium & PVC has the skills and expertise needed to take on any commercial project, big or small. We always ensure that the client’s specifications are followed and that deadlines and budgets are adhered to. The finished result looks impressive and both the client and contractor were extremely pleased with our quality of work and attention to detail.

Eikon Exhibition Centre

Working with property development and construction specialists OCP Belfast on this high-profile project. Turkington Aluminium & PVC were asked to supply and install 500m² of curtain walling to the newly extended exhibition centre. The project’s aim was to create a functional frontage to ease entry access during events. We installed a glazed atrium and aluminium entrance doors to this large commercial building. Each length of curtain walling was cut on-site to achieve precise angles that give the appearance of a continuous radius.

Tesco Superstore

Working for high profile client Tesco, the project involved meeting strict deadlines to achieve a vital store opening date for this 58,000sq ft Tesco superstore. The project included curtain walling to one full elevation and a quantity of aluminium windows and more curtain walling to the end elevations. A significant factor in this project was the ability to meet stringent energy and air-tightness requirements. We also constructed an entrance foyer in line with Tesco’s drive for improved energy efficiency in-store.

Our Lady & St Patricks College

This is a voluntary school catering for the educational needs of approximately 1260 pupils. A large-scale project involving the supply and installation of aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling, and automated roof lights. Working alongside main contractors O’Hare and McGovern, and the local school authority; we completed this project with efficiency and professionalism on time and to budget.

Tesco Supermarket

For this large-scale project, Turkington Aluminium & PVC had responsibility for all the glazing elements of this Tesco store. The project involved the installation of a large glazed envelope, curtain walling, and entry doors. The glazing forms an integral part of the building’s frontage which includes 1350m² of curtain walling and several automatic sliding doors. All work was completed on schedule in eight weeks and despite being manufactured to an agreed specification, extensive on-site assembly was still required. The value of the contract was in the region of £500k.

Group 4 Security Building

Our client for this project, G4S is a multi-national security company. The project entailed the installation of high specification glazing into a highly secure Alarm Response Centre. The building was of steel framed construction with block work skin and a significant amount of security grade glazing. We used low-e tinted glazing with aluminium windows and curtain walling to successfully complete the project.

Eastpoint Entertainment Village

Working for main contractor JH Turkington & Sons at Eastpoint Entertainment Village in Belfast. Eastpoint is a leisure and entertainment destination, located east of Belfast. It is anchored by an eight screen Omniplex cinema which is adjoined by several high specification restaurant and retail units. For the project, we installed curtain walling on the Omniplex Cinema and shop front screens and commercial doors on the individual restaurants and units.

Aldi Supermarkets

Turkington Aluminium & PVC are the approved supplier of windows, doors, shop fronts, and curtain wall systems for Aldi’s supermarket expansion programme. During this project, we worked on 18 new Aldi supermarkets at various locations across Ireland. Both product and service levels were critical, with a fast track turnaround and quality of the final product key to a successful project handover.

Kennedy Retail Centre

Working for award winning project development and construction company Heron Brothers, at a large retail centre in Belfast. The project involved installing curtain walling and doors to the Kennedy Centre’s main structure and installing shop-fronts to several individual retail units for Sainsbury’s Supermarket. Critical to the success of all retail projects was the ability to complete on time and to budget. It was also essential that the installations were aesthetically pleasing, met stringent energy and air tightness requirements, and had the strength and durability to cope with the volume of traffic associated with a modern shopping centre and supermarket.

David Prentice, Car Showroom, Tyrone

This project involved installing aluminium curtain walling, shop-front and doors for a car showroom in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. The aluminium on this project was manufactured in a range of vibrant colours to reflect the brand values of Mini for this Mini showroom.

Aldi Supermarket

This Aldi supermarket was a fast-track construction project. Strict deadlines were in place, with all installations needing to be completed within a limited time scale. All aluminium windows and curtain walling were manufactured and cut off-site, to agreed sizes from detailed plans to minimise on-site time for the main contractor.

Law Society House

Turkington Aluminium & PVC supplied and installed all the windows and structural glazing for this eye-catching building, including the centre-piece multi floor entrance foyer. The façade design incorporated Brise Soleil and tinted glazing to provide solar shading and solar control to enhance usability. The finish was anodised bronze aluminium which adds greatly to the aesthetic appearance. Of particular note were the number of flashing details which were of a bespoke design to ensure intricate interface details were accurately constructed and installed.

Government Building

Working for the Estate Services Business Unit of the Police Service of Northern Ireland on this significant commercial project. The project involved the installation of aluminium windows and curtain walling at a multi-storey, mixed use facility in downtown Belfast. The entire building is a low carbon design with the glazed units designed and installed to maximise energy efficiency and security.
